One of a series of works on paper that capture the earthy ochre tones of Golden Gully, a historical gold mining reef at Hill End. Painted plein air from the depths of the reef amidst the sculptural turrets and towers of eroded earth that create this otherworldly landscape. The most resilient trees cling to life with airborne twirling roots and others that visibly weave their way through the earth.
