This painting is inspired by local rolling hills in Kangaroo Ground, Victoria. It was commenced on location with plein air charcoal sketches. The painting was completed in my studio in late winter at a time when I was longing for warmer. Soft lemony yellows are reminiscent of bleached summer paddocks. Gates and tracks have become a familiar motif in my work. An invitation to enter and explore the unknown.
