This large oil painting on canvas was inspired by a glorious weekend at Dunkeld, a beautiful town located in the Southern Grampians. Mt Sturgeon hovers over the township like an apparition and completely steals the show.

The cottage I stayed in had this jaw dropping view of Mt Sturgeon, with ever changing colours throughout the day. Sunrise was especially breathtaking.

Several charcoal sketches created on site were used to inform this painting back in my studio.
