Wallaby Rocks is a beautiful rock formation along the banks of the Turon River just out of Sofala not far from Hill End. The dark waters of the river shimmer with reflected light that dances across the rock face. It is a place of serenity with its own mysterious energy and many stories to tell.

Into the Sun was painted on location at Wallaby Rocks on a large piece of unstretched canvas draped across the river stones. Their imprint provided the dappled light areas of this painting. It was painted in the heat of the day looking directly into the sun.
